created bears since 2003 Over the last 10 years, I have gone on to market and sell patterns, kits, hold workshops, offer
Bear making guides via an online membership site, and author a book
Bear Basics and Beyond. My bears have been published in many magazines, Australian Bear Creations (Australia) Teddy Bear & Friends (US) Teddy Bear Review (US) Teddy Bear Times (UK) Teddy Bear Annual (UK)German News (Germany) and Bears and Buds (US online) My bears have been nominated for some major awards including Toby Award, Golden Teddy Award, Australian Bear Creations and Sydney Teddy Bear Fair including Peoples Choice.
For over 10 years, I have been working in the corporate world as an Account Executive consulting with clients while creating my bears,
Bare Cub Designs. These 2 aspects of my life could not be further apart, but I realize that every artist must have 2 sides, the creative and business.
My husband and I live in the beautiful Australian bush just north of Perth in Western Australia, and yes I do have kangaroos in the front yard. I now have a beautiful workspace studio (built by Ray) which inspires my to not only create beautiful work but keep on top of the business side of things. I do work full time in Perth as an Account Executive for the leading telco in Australia. I must admit, this is not as exiting as working in a marketing or advertising role, but I have gained a lot of corporate knowledge and much of it has assisted my creative ventures. I believe having great art is only half of being a successful artist. We must do more. We need to get out there and show the world. Theres a lot to know, and I want to make this as easy as I can for other artists to showcase their art.I am now supporting
